Didier Drogba was one of the most prolific strikers of the Premier League scoring 100+ goals in around 250 appearances.
The Goals per Game ratio, however, doesn’t do justice to him as Drogba was very renowned for coming up in Big games with a goalscoring record at club level of 10 goals in 10 finals winning 10 trophies. The 2012 UCL final is an exemplary example of this.
In the Champions League final on 19 May 2012, Drogba scored the equaliser from Juan Mata’s corner in the 88th minute, taking Chelsea into extra time and then penalties in what was to be his last ever game for the blues. He also scored the winning penalty in the 4–3 penalty shootout that led Chelsea to the victory over Bayern Munich Winning Chelsea’s first ever Champions League trophy. Drogba will forever remain in the history of Stamford bridge for his heroics in that night.
